Ein Gedi is an oasis, national park, reserve and a definitive “must-visit” while travelling in Israel.
Ein Gedi («spring of the young goat») is a nature reserve and national park on the shores of the Dead Sea. There are traces of three fortresses dating back to the time of the Jewish kings, remains of a farm and water systems. In the Talmud period there was a Jewish settlement, of which the ruins of a synagogue with the six-pointed star.
Today Ein Gedi is the most picturesque corner of nature on the shores of the Dead Sea. There are several streams and hiking trails along them. It is also home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Israel: «Shulamit».
