Gethsemane

Gethsemane is a garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. In Christianity, the Garden of Gethsemane is traditionally revered as the place where Jesus prayed on the night of his arrest before his crucifixion.

In the Garden of Gethsemane there are 8 very ancient olive trees, some say more than 2,000 years old. A study conducted by the Italian National Research Council in 2012 found that some of them are among the oldest known to science.
