Sea of Galilee (Kineret)

Sea of Galilee (Kineret)

The Sea of Galilee - also Lake Tiberias, Lake Genesaret, the Sea of Kinneret, Sea of Hinneret or Kinneret. This is a freshwater lake in northeastern Israel.
The lake shore is one of the lowest land areas on Earth - 213 m below sea level.

Kineret is a source of a third of all fresh water consumed in Israel.
Water levels are subject to change throughout the year depending on precipitation and water consumption.
Without the lake, the inhabitants would have been thirsty and the land of Israel would have been meager and barren.
