Jaffa is one of the main ports of ancient Israel and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Ships with pilgrims sailed into the port of Jaffa to continue on their way to Jerusalem.
In 1950. Jaffa merged with Tel Aviv and became the main historical, artistic and tourist center of the metropolis.
It is believed that it was in Jaffa that Noah built the ark, Perseus freed Andromeda, and it was from here that the prophet Jonah set sail.
